צמח הכיסופית, המכונה גם לובד המדבר או לובד פרסי, נפוץ בעיקר באיזורים מדבריים צחיחים וסאב טרופיים ומקורו ביבשת אפריקה ואסיה.

הכיסופית גדלה כשיח מסועף וזקוף ויכולה להגיע לגובה של כ-160 ס"מ ולרוחב של 120 ס"מ בתנאים אופטימליים. 

עליו וגבעוליו מכוסים שערות לבנות. 
פריחת הכיסופית נמשכת בטבע מחודש דצמבר ועד לחודש יוני ופרחיו לבנים קטנים ומרובים, ערוכים בתפרחות צפופות בקצות הגבעולים. הפרחים ללא ריח.
בגידול מסחרי, אספקת הפרחים קיימת לאורך כל חודשי השנה.

צמח הכיסופית משמש למילוי נפח בזרי פרחים ומיוצא על ידינו לכל העולם כפרחים חתוכים.

Desert yearning (Aerva javanica) Cut Flowers

 

Aerva javanica (desert yearning) is a species of plant from the Amaranthaceae family. It has a native distribution and it's originated from Africa (including Madagascar), and the south-west and south of Asia. The plant is herbaceous, multi-stemmed, soft-wooded, with broad leaves.

 

The branch and leaves of desert yearning upper surfaces is thinly covered in whitish hairs and are greenish in colour, while their undersides are more densely covered in these hairs and have a whitish appearance.

 

Desert yearning has white flowers on elongated clusters at the tips of the branches. These clusters are very dense and gives an abundant look to the branch. 
Aerva is apathetic to long/short day and blooming accurs from december to june. 
In commercial production, Desert Yearning flowers all year long. 

 

Desert yearning cut flowers are very popular as a bouquet filling all over the world.

The length of cut flowers range between 60-80cm long.
